Job Description

As a Panels test engineer will be responsible for:

  • Review R&D documentation (Schematics, relay settings, tripping matrix, customer test report) on detail to assure the test of the panel.

  • Test hardware and software of electrical panels for substations in Bilbao site, including protection and control functionalities. Knowledge of GE relays and valued other competitors relays knowledge (Protection and control). Knowledge of communications protocols (Modbus, 61850,…)

  • Support customer FAT of electrical panels in Bilbao site.

  • Provide both external and internal timely, accurate, professional reports.

  • EHS Leadership and conduct the work in compliance with current regulation.

  • Leverage applicable in Lean projects.

  • Exceptionally, commissioning activities for Protection & Control and Substation Automation Systems.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Valued Electronics/Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.

  • Valued experience in Energy/Utility Project environments.

  • High level in Spanish and English.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus and ability to cooperate with the different departments.

  • A rigorous team working approach, good communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of self-motivation, flexibility and self-learning aptitude.

  • Valued experience with electrical Protection relays and Control systems (LV & HV).

  • Willingness and ability to travel globally (Maximum 20 days/year).

Desired Characteristics:

  • Technical skills on GE Protection Relays, Communication Protocols, SCADA, networks.

  • Background in Electrical Control Systems and SCADA/DCS systems.

  • GE GA P&C and SAS products.

  • Must be a motivator, autonomous and dedicated team player.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and achieve milestones and deliverables.

  • Sound judgment, level headed under pressure, with an ability to think on feet.

  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency and an ability to work to tight deadlines.

  • High communication and organization skills to coordinate activities involving different teams.
