Job Description

Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots real-time telemetry instrumentation to include but not limited to, data loggers, transmitters, antennas, encryptors, aviation bus couplers, video encoders, strain gauges, load cells, accelerometers, and other transducers. Builds cable harnesses following established wiring standards. Operations will include setting up and configuring instrumentation, installing or rigging it on the test article, supporting it during test missions, and removing instrumentation once the test is complete. Skills required include a fluency with computers, use of test equipment (such as Spectrum Analyzers, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes), soldering iron, and basic hand tools to support telemetry systems. Uses comprehensive technical knowledge and works from mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams and technical manuals to diagnose the source of the problem to effect repairs. Provides technical guidance and train lower level technicians. Works independently supporting operations and maintenance efforts with minimal direction. Guides a small group of technicians and manage small projects. Applies technical knowledge to solve complex problems associated with integrating systems and components. Interfaces with customers to determine technical support requirements. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: $36.20Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.* Must have one of the following: 10 years related experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years directly related experience, OR an Associate’s degree / Military training in a related field and 5 years related experience. * Experience performing advanced maintenance on equipment and transducers.* Experience soldering and building complex cable harnesses and instrumentation interface boxes.* Experience using test equipment like multi-meters and oscilloscopes. * May be required to pass a flight physical and high-altitude flying certification to support instrumentation on airdrop missions. Job Skills Requirements: * Must be knowledgeable of Windows based computers and have experience with Microsoft Office products.* Must be proficient with hand tools. * Working knowledge of electronics and instrumentation experience.* Capable of using test equipment and schematics for troubleshooting.Physical Requirements:* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.* Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.* Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.* Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Telemetry.Job Requirements:* Must provide personally owned common hand tools.* Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.* Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.* Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.* Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.* Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.* Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.* Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability. * Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.* Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy. * Must be able to deliver quality products to the customer and be responsive to their needs. * Must be safety and security conscious, complying with rules and policies.* Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently. * Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.* Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.Additional Desirable Qualifications:* Previous avionics experience.Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:* Must be a U.S. Citizen.* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.* Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.Relevance of experience to be determined by hiring manager.Closing Date: 07 OCTOBER 2024
