Boys & Girls Club of Yankton Programming Intern in Yankton, South Dakota

he Programming Intern is responsible for utilizing the resources of the organization to assist with services and programs for Club members and the communitys youth.

MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Follow timelines and complete projects outlined on your intern performance plan
  2. Attend and participate in all staff meetings and bi-weekly supervisor meetings
  3. Support the Boys and Girls Club programming team where needed by being a support staff
  4. Work on special projects as assigned in all areas of the Club
  5. Be the lead on marketing Club programs and special events
  6. Assist with programming in the areas of the Boys and Girls Club priority outcomes: Character and Leadership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Academic Success
  7. Serve as a support and fill in for positions during vacations, absences, open positions and new opportunities and projects at the Club
  8. Other duties assigned by supervisor

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  1. High level organizational skills
  2. Friendly, personable and able to communicate well in person and through the phone
  3. Experience working with youth in grades K-12
  4. Positive attitude, pro-active approach and the ability to multi-task

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, parents etc. at the Club.
