Overview
F airview Health Services is hiring an Electroencephalogram (EEG) Techician to join our EEG department at our M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center location in Wyoming, MN.

The Electroencephalogram Technician position is responsible for performing prescribed electroencephalogram tests, with the knowledge and ability to collect, assess, interpret and intervene as appropriate in the care of pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
Schedule : This position is a 0.10FTE (4 hours per week). The shift length will vary. Typical work schedule will be on the day/evening shift.

Responsibilities Job Description
Electroencephalogram (EEG) testing
Prepare patient and equipment for EEG procedures
Operate equipment to record electrical activity of the brain readings
Monitor patient respiration, heart and brain activity during procedure
Records evoked responses from patients
Prepare readings for interpretation by a physician
Equipment setup and sterilization
Assures availability and proper functioning of supplies and equipment
Assembles and adjusts equipment
Cleans, replenishes and sterilizes instruments and supplies as needed
Participates in the evaluation of new equipment or supplies
Assists other members of the team with terminal cleaning of room in readiness of next patient
Provides patient care
Adheres to standards of clinical practice and patient care appropriate to the age of the patients
Collaborates with the MD and other staff
Respects confidentiality of all information
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served
Partners with patient/care-giver in care/decision making
Communicates in a respectful manner
Ensures a safe, secure environment
Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs
Provides patient education based on an assessment of learning needs of patient/care-giver
Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of an EEG training program or equivalent experience
BLS - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire
1-2 years previous experience as an EEG Tech performing EEGs and evoked responses
Preferred:
Polysomnography training
REEG or RPSGT
3 or more years experience as an EEG Tech performing EEGs and evoked responses
Additional Requirements:
Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Ability to carry out non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor
