Job Description Summary

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of products, solutions and systems, including activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include but not limit to plastic parts, sheet metal parts and standards parts.

  • Be in charge of product 3D/2D design, pre-evaluate the heat dissipation / waterproof / strength / reliability of the product structure and guide the specific design.

  • Performance and reliability analysis and testing for key components, support for system integration and verification.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Use prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; use this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Use some level of judgment and have ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Use prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Have access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills and provide informal guidance to new team members.

  • Other assignments from the supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience or MS with + years of experience.

  • Experience in mechanical system design (compact design, drop, waterproof, thermal) and components design (plastic, rubber, sheet metal, die casting and standard parts).

  • Expertise with CAD software PTC Creo.

  • Simulation skills will be plus.

  • Experience with full product cycle from concept to mass production.

  • Strong in engineering logic thinking and demonstrated ability to analyze & resolve problems.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. (Mandarin and English)
