Capability Life Cycle Management (CLCM)

The CLCM is integrated into the System Program Office (SPO) and contracted to deliver through-life asset management of Products being supported (PBS). The CLCM performs asset, sustainment and engineering functions to optimise availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and minimise risk through life of the PBS. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with Regional Maintenance Centre’s (RMC) to plan maintenance activities and installation of capability upgrades. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with the Design Services Contract (DSC) to plan and execute engineering changes and services. The CLCM delivers functions against the contract scope across the Asset Class Enterprise to support Defence Maritime Capability.

The Opportunity:

The Systems Engineer supports the Contractor Standing Capability Manager to deliver systems engineering services on the PBS. The Systems Engineer will analyse, develop and coordinate requirements, verification and validation through the systems engineering lifecycle. The Systems Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) that provides mentorship to fellow Engineers supporting CLCM engineering activities. The Systems Engineer works collaboratively and provides guidance to all stakeholders on requirements analysis, development, verification and validation on multiple systems on the PBS.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, analyses and manages Requirements Verification Matrices and associated artefacts for analysis and development of Engineering Changes.

  • Undertakes planning and stakeholder liaison, including ship superintendents to ensure the smooth operation of verification and validation activities through systems engineering life cycle and test and trials activities post production.

  • Supporting planning and coordinating of onboard installation, integration, set to work and test and trials activities.

  • Review and assure draft test procedures and document results.

  • Review, raise and track non conformances, waivers or comments against unresolved verification and validation.

  • Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, or equivalent, qualification in a recognised Engineering related discipline;

  • Eligible to obtain SQEP Engineering Delegation Authority within an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).

  • Experience with Requirements Development, Design Review and Acceptance within a regulated technical framework, example Department of Defence.

  • Hold, or be eligible for, membership of a recognised professional body and registration as Chartered Engineering;

  • A minimum of 5 years related experience, with typical experience ranging from 5-10 years.

  • Must be eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Department of Defence design delivery.

  • Experience in marine design or maintenance.

  • Experience in DOORS.

  • Experience in management of requirements and verification on large projects
