As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for our process engineering and design teams by providing direction and priority on best practice focus areas and project scopes, leveraging expertise across the plant. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
You Will:
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant: Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Provide daily engineering technical support and leadership for manufacturing operations including, machining, assembly, testing, and packaging.
Apply statistical methods to determine and improve process capability, repeatability, first-pass yields, and conformance to quality requirements.
Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts. Evaluate products/processes according to specifications, cost and quality standards.
Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, DFMA and develop test procedures.
Determine units requiring environmental testing and specify minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
Draft FMEA or formulate mathematical models to identify units posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design.
Plan and direct engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products and systems.
You Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline
6+ years’ experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing or machining environment
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools and material knowledge in engineering design
Proficient in the use of 3D CAD solid modeling software-Auto Desk Inventor.
Knowledge of machining processes. Tooling and fixture design experience. CNC programming experience.
Salary Range: $100K to $115K
Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
