What You Will Do:

  • Lead the charge in revolutionizing our systems engineering capability, partnering with trailblazing team members to carve out the path towards an unparalleled future of innovation.

  • Oversees and guides critical processes such as design and requirements reviews, risk management, test readiness, standard process changes, technology readiness, root cause analysis, system technical reviews, acceptance testing, validation, verification, and certification reviews.

  • Championing a culture of excellence in systems engineering roles and processes, ensuring seamless harmonization, and setting the gold standard for precision and efficiency

  • Innovating cutting-edge standard work and quality management systems, enforcing compliance and guaranteeing the highest levels of quality

  • Spearheading tools and training programs to empower dynamic teams, driving innovation while optimizing product and design costs

  • Leading the implementation of revolutionary Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes, shaping the future of engineering with unparalleled excellence and reliability

  • Mentoring and empowering systems engineers, nurturing talent and fostering professional growth within a vibrant community of practice

  • Holding accountability for approving critical system Design Assurance Levels, ensuring excellence and reliability at every stage

What You Will Learn:

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with aerospace standards, including, but not limited to, the below:

  • Experience with RTCA-DO-178 for Software Considerations in Airborne Systems

  • Experience with RTCA-DO-254 Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware

  • Experience with ARP 4754 Guidelines for systems development

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with ARP 4761 for civil aircraft development and safety assessments.

  • Degree and relevant experience in Systems, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.

  • Direct experience with Model Based Systems Engineering ( MBSE tools) spanning one or more of the following use-cases: system requirements and architecture modeling, design validation, virtual integration and verification, software DevOps, producibility and transition to production, and service digital twins.

  • Experience partnering with customers and various disciplines across the organization, including Engineering, Quality, Business Development and Operations.

  • Experience communicating complex technical subjects with clarity and precision to a non-technical audience.

  • Experience leading and resolving complex investigations under deadlines and creating innovative solutions to problems.

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
