What You Will Do

  • Leads the Design and Project Engineering teams through all engineering aspects of quotations, program execution, and delivery.

  • Monitors project plans, schedules, and budgets for projects. Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to ensure project completion. Works closely with Engineering Project Leaders. Program Management and Value Stream Leadership

  • Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and supervises staff to meet project targets, budgets, and milestones.

  • Employs a sense of urgency to keep the team on track and moving forward with intent towards the optimal solution.

  • Reviews design solutions to ensure root causes are addressed and designs will perform to the expectations of our customers.

  • Reviews and approves new designs, design changes, and service documentation in Teamcenter.

  • Works to enhance team member’s design, root cause analysis, and project engineering capabilities to enable quick resolution of in-service, spares issues, and execution of cabin modification programs.

What You Will Learn

  • You'll develop strong leadership skills as you lead the Design and Project Engineering teams through all engineering aspects of quotations, program execution, and delivery. You'll learn to set priorities, allocate tasks, and supervise staff to ensure project targets, budgets, and milestones are met.

  • You'll review and approve new designs, design changes, and service documentation in Teamcenter, gaining hands-on experience in design review processes and documentation management.

  • You'll work to enhance team members' design, root cause analysis, and project engineering capabilities, enabling quick resolution of in-service issues, spares issues, and execution of cabin modification programs. You'll foster a culture of continuous learning and development within your team.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position ​

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Jira, Microsoft Project, Siemens NX and Teamcenter

  • 5+ years of design or project engineering leadership experience

  • Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems for commercial aircraft interiors products.

  • MBA and PMP certificate.

  • Experience with FAA aircraft certification processes such as TSO/PMA/TC/STC (14 CFR Part 21 & 25)

Employee Referral Eligible

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
