PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Located in Winnipeg, reporting to the Director of Business Transformation the L2C Business Transformation Partner works with the sales & marketing (S&M), Finance and Network Service Center (NCS) to drive value through enabling new transformation capabilities. Our mission is to collaborate with the S&M, Finance and NSC teams along with IS Delivery to drive value through enabling new transformation capabilities. The L2C Business Transformation Partner will enable the business in successful delivery of IS projects by helping to define requirements, designing business processes, and aligning stakeholder expectations.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Demand Management - manage intake and prioritization of business requests to ensure roadmap alignment and optimization
Process Mapping – develop an integrated business architecture through process flow mapping, key measures, and process optimization opportunities
Realize process improvements through simplification, standardization, and automation processes/solutions
Roadmap development – work with senior business leaders and Enterprise/Solution Architects to identify, elaborate and plan future transformation programs and initiatives. Fit these plans into our corporate transformation roadmap
Roadmap program delivery – lead innovation and manage change to ensure that strategic programs, solution enhancements realize their value
Build and maintain partnerships within the business, earn trust, build credibility and thereby forming strong relationships with the business stakeholders
Lead and facilitate discussions across the organization to identify opportunities, optimize/influence decision making, and drive value
Apply a variety of techniques to elicit and gather business and user requirements from stakeholders. Understand business issues and opportunities. Analyze and define both the “As Is” and “To Be” business processes and perform a gap analysis
Coordinate diverse groups who contribute to business requirements and build consensus for requirements across the various user groups
Capture and document non-functional requirements that are important to the user community (i.e. usability, learnability, reliability). Liaise with architecture to ensure other non-functional requirements are considered (i.e. security, compatibility, maintainability)
Translating requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems to technical teams designing and implementing the solution
Develop diagrams and models (use case, activity diagram, business process models, etc.) and clearly document functional requirements and business rules to describe what the system, process, or product/service must do in order to fulfill the business and user requirements
Demonstrate CPKC s leadership competencies
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required
Strong experience in Business Transformation, focused on process optimization
Experience and understanding of railway and transportation processes as it applies to customers, price development, order management, invoice to collections and financial reporting
Experience developing strategic plans and roadmaps
High business IQ and ability to articulate the value of different strategies & programs
Highly analytical with experience in process mapping and business analysis
Skilled in facilitation, negotiation, gaining consensus and managing conflict of diverse stakeholder groups
Experience and ability to work with Senior Leadership levels in the organization
Ability to manage client expectations and negotiate win-win solutions
Highly effective communicator, confident, passionate, clear, respectfully assertive and inspiring
Displays emotional intelligence; demonstrates self-awareness and remains calm under pressure, expresses confidences in ability to succeed and keeps an optimistic attitude even when things are not going well

Management Conductor Program:
