Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commodity Manager to develop and implement strategies for securing a cost-efficient, high-quality, and timely supply of materials. In this role, you will conduct market analysis to identify trends, collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand material requirements, and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with contracts and performance metrics. The successful candidate will also contribute to risk mitigation, cost-saving initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain.

This role may require domestic and international travel to supplier locations to monitor supplier performance, identify risks, and support lean manufacturing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commodity strategies to ensure the long-term supply of high-quality materials at competitive costs.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, leverage opportunities for cost reductions, and predict supply chain risks.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and ensure supplier performance aligns with contractual obligations.

  • Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, ensuring minimal disruption to production and delivery schedules.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to cost-saving targets across the organization.

  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance is measured and monitored through KPIs and contractual agreements.

  • Perform complex data analysis, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), supplier scorecards, and financial modeling.

  • Oversee supplier reviews and performance communications through weekly/monthly updates and quarterly business reviews.

  • Identify and recommend potential new suppliers by continuously assessing supplier capabilities.

  • Support lean manufacturing projects and material replenishment strategies, such as Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and consignment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in commodity management or a similar role.

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with demonstrated cost-saving achievements.

  • Due to the nature of the work US citizenship is required

Preferred Skill Set

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to present and discuss strategies and analysis with stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of commodity management and global economic trends.

  • Experience in developing Statements of Work and Terms and Conditions for supplier contracts.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to build a business case to support sourcing recommendations.

  • Ability to conduct market data analysis to predict trends and drive informed sourcing decisions.

  • Proven success in negotiation and achieving cost reduction targets.

  • Excellent interpersonal and planning skills, with the ability to influence change and lead improvements across the supply chain.
