Windham Mountain Resort RETAIL SERVICE TECHNICIAN in Windham, New York

Overview of Position: The Shop at Windham Mountain Club is a multi-seasonal specialty retailer that carries a vast selection of equipment, clothing, and accessories for a variety of outdoor activities . The Retail Service Technician is primarily involved in ski/snowboard equipment repair and maintenance using sophisticated mounting and tuning equipment.

Job Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.

  • Must be able to handle a stressful, noisy, and crowded situation.

  • Have knowledge of mounting and tuning equipment.

  • Have knowledge of ski and snowboard construction.

  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and stand for an entire work shift.

  • Must be able to lift skis, boards, boots, and poles repeatedly.

  • Must be able to regularly bend, kneel, stoop, push and pull machinery, tools, and other work equipment.

  • Must be able to use basic computer systems and POS software .

  • Have sufficient math skills.

    Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform all aspects of servicing ski/snowboard equipment including but not limited to m ounting & adjustments , t uning , and b oot fitting

  • Assist customers in any way possible.

  • Maintain all shop equipment and tools.

  • Operate computerized cash register.

  • Operate ski/snowboard service tools and equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Must use proper personal protection equipment (including but not limited to gloves, safety goggles and hearing protection).

  • Maintain knowledge of the ski area, programs, events, daily snow conditions and any other information that aids in your communication with our guests.

    Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing a premier product and guest experience. Traditionally our busy periods are weekends and holidays which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods.

    Dress Code:

  • Name tag must always be worn, no exceptions.

  • Must maintain a clean and professional appearance - grooming as needed to prevent body odor, unkempt hair/nails, and dress as appropriate for the season at all times.

  • Business casual attire, including jeans, is appropriate.

  • No large logos, holes, or tears should be visible in any clothing.
