GE Vernova Senior Field Services Engineer, PWR (Remote Eligible, U.S) in Wilmington, North Carolina

Job Description Summary

The Senior Field Services Engineer, PWR will provide oversight, technical leadership, and front-line supervision for the successful execution of complex projects and activities involving BWR and PWR reactor maintenance and inspection. They will have technical expertise and experience in BWR and PWR reactor disassembly, reassembly, refueling and all forms of in-vessel servicing for PWRs and BWRs. This position is eligible as a remote position working from home when not traveling.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

As the Senior Field Engineer, PWR you will:

  • Be responsible for delivery of field projects including task leadership, technical direction, work coordination and supervision of work teams composed of GE and contingent worker personnel including craft labor at Customer sites

  • Provide leadership, work coordination and supervision of work teams composed of GE and contingent worker personnel including craft labor

  • Establish appropriate relationships and interact effectively with customers and suppliers on commercial, technical & compliance issues and work within an integrated services team

  • Support business activities including proposal preparation, cost estimating, and interfaces with Customer Service, Commercial Operations. Planning & Staffing and Training

  • Provide tooling and equipment expertise

  • Meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers, getting first-hand customer information and using it for improvements in products and services

  • Maintain diligence on integrity, safety and quality metrics and processes

  • Support Product Line Leaders as necessary

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related degree discipline from an accredited college or university and 6 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry.

OR

  • High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Nuclear industry

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered

  • Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability and willingness to climb and descend 10 flights of stairs twice per day

  • Ability and willingness to pass respirator fit test and physical

  • Ability and willingness to pass Fitness For Duty requirements and site security requirements to obtain unescorted access

  • Ability and willingness to work under high stress conditions

  • Ability and willingness to work in radiation-controlled areas and radioactively contaminated areas

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally plant sites

  • Ability and willingness to work 12 hours / day seven days per week (when delivering of field projects)

  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior project management and/or project coordinator experience in nuclear outages is highly desired

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Marine, Mechanical, or Industrial from an accredited college or university

  • Knowledge of nuclear power plant refueling activities

  • Knowledge of BWR and PWR Vessels and Components, Nuclear Steam Safety System (NSSS), Reactor Containment Building

  • Excellent computer skills; ability to use MS Office, MS Project

  • Well organized and self-directed worker

The salary range for this position is $104-130k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
