Brief Summary of Work for this Position

  • Lead, create, and execute all marketing and fan experience efforts and initiatives for UNCW Athletics
  • This position serves as a key leader in driving creativity and cohesiveness amongst social and digital platforms
  • Enhance brand awareness through marketing strategies in all mediums
  • Lead, create and execute marketing plans, develop attendance generating promotions, and coordinate gameday activities for all sports
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data and analytics from digital campaigns to measure performance and identify key trends
  • Oversight of booking and scheduling of third-party entertainment, and performers for all events
  • Create game scripts to match the game day marketing plans
  • Manage the process of submitting requisitions form payments in the areas of promotional items and advertising among other needs
  • Work closely with the supervisor in all budgeting and finance elements of the department
  • Plan and implement special events: Seahawks Tomorrow, Seahawk Madness, etc.
  • Manage the budgets and supervision of the cheer, dance, pep band and mascot programs
  • Coordinates and supervises the distribution of promotional materials
  • Work within a team, deal with ambiguity, manage fast-paced change and to contribute what is needed to achieve project goals
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NCAA rules and regulations regarding compliance issues
  • Because of the nature of athletic schedules, the selected candidate may be required to work flexible hours to meet the various demands of the operation

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

  • Master's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing in collegiate or professional sports
  • Microsoft Office Experience along with design software
  • Adobe Suite Experience
  • 2+ years of experience with commercial/business management of social media platforms including but not limited to X, Facebook, Instagram etc.
  • 1+ year of video board operation experience
