Job Description\ To positively affect the child and family environment through support services for the families seeking substance use services and resources in local communities that promotes and consistently articulate the mission of Saint Francis Ministries

  • Assists with incentive programs for active participation and completion of programs.
  • Develop working relationships with community partners.
  • Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
  • May need to assist with transportation.
  • Able to facilitate psychoeducational groups related to substance use and healthy living.
  • In-home support services
  • Reports critical incidents to DCF verbally within 12 hours, written within 24 hours.
  • Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint
  • Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and all term of the contract between Saint Francis Ministries and DCF and all other grantees.
  • Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
  • Ensures clients rights are protected.
  • Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must pass drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check and an Adult Registry check.
  • FBI Fingerprint check
  • Lifting requirement of 50 lbs.
  • Must have valid drivers license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • 1 year of no substance use and has completed or will complete the peer mentor program offered by KDADS within the first 3 months of employment
  • Mandated Reporter
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible to changing situations, staff, and families.
  • Sensitive to the needs of families.
  • Able to solve problems but also able and willing to seek assistance when necessary.
  • Must be a team player willing to show flexibility.
  • Basic understanding of adolescent development, adults treatment, and defense mechanisms.
  • Ability to listen, analyze and record information.
  • Assist parents in moving forward in their relationships with children/spouse or co- parent.
  • Establish rapport and impart caring and empathy while remaining objective and professional in relationship.
  • Independent discretion/decision making within the scope and responsibility of the position.
  • Handles multiple priorities.
  • Manages emotions and can make decision under pressure.
  • Manages stress appropriately.
  • Works alone effectively.
