JOB REQUIREMENTS: Title:Fleet Operations Supervisor, 1st Shift Req ID: 4811 City, State:Westfield, WI Reports to:Terminal Manager - WI Classification:Exempt Relocation:Nationwide relocation assistance is available #LI-Onsite JOB DESCRIPTION Summary: The Operations Supervisor in Brakebush Transportationsupports company objectives with critical thinking and excellent communication skills. The position is responsible for supervising and overseeing the work of others to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation operations that meets the needs and standards of Brakebush. Essential Functions: Supervises and leads our drivers and office team. The incumbent provides guidance and instruction regarding policy and procedure to staff and drivers from other Brakebush Transportation locations when needed. Approves timecards for salary or hourly WI fleet personnel. Cross trains to fully understand the responsibilities of all other roles in the Transportation office to provide back-up coverage. Oversees staff to ensure that work is accomplished in an efficient manner consistent with organizational objectives and requirements. Monitor\'s operations to ensure that employees comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules and government regulations. Conducts employee reviews, generate disciplinary action, and oversee training or retraining. Maintains updated job descriptions for reports. The incumbent will serve as primary contact for drivers and employees assigned to work in the WI Fleet Transportation office and must ensure that adequate staffing levels are maintained. Supports Brakebush Transportation operations. The incumbent will direct and participate in the activities related to planning, dispatching, and routing required of Brakebush Transportation operations to meet or exceed the needs of other Brakebush corporate entities or outside customers. Works with the Fleet Manager to document current SOP and identify, implement, and record opportunities for process improvement. The incumbent will also solicit, develop, and maintain relationships with outside customers and outside carriers. Reviews and analyze reports to monitor operations with Fleet Manager and develop strategies to improve financial performance and troubleshooting potential issues with truck management software (TMW) or other fleet technologies (e.g., PeopleNet). Required Qualifications: At least two years of experience in the transportation and logistics field. At least one year of experience in a supervisory role. Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. Excellent customer service skills. A proactive problem solver with the ability to rapidly handle change in a fast-paced work environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
