Vertiv Corporation Director, HR Americas Manufacturing & Operations in Westerville, Ohio

As the Director, HR, you will oversees, direct, and responsible for all HR activities for the Americas Operations team including Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement for all manufacturing facilities in the US and Mexico. Provides strategic HR partnership and leadership to Americas Operations Leadership team and leads our Manufacturing Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Team for the region. Proactively plans and deploys critical talent / workforce to support business needs. Provides strategic direction and creates / implements policies and procedures related to all aspects of the Manufacturing and Operations HR function including staffing, employee relations and communication plan implementation. This position is located at our Global HQ's Campus in Columbus, Ohio. RESPONSIBILITIES * Act as business partner to Americas Operations Leadership team by influencing and driving talent decisions, creatively solving challenges, offering and implementing recommendations, etc., for the business as well as the HR function * Provide direction and support to the US & Mexico plant HR Managers and their teams; ensuring fully engaged, trained and staffed talent to execute on changing and complex business requirements * Actively attend Manufacturing Operations meetings; present HR metrics and make recommendations based on data analytics * Use data to make recommendations for HR practices, ensuring we have right talent at the right time at the right levels of investment * Maintain strong partnership with regional and local health & safety teams to ensure strong safety mindsets and a safe working environment * Drive workforce planning process and proactively ensure capability gaps are being filled; responsible for preparing workforce for the future skills necessary * Reduce waste and gain efficiency by driving synergy and consistency of employment practices across the facilities, where possible * Establish and maintain employee relations practices necessary to drive efficiencies and productivity * Create and implement annual employee communications plan; drive employee business understanding through effective communications and employee meetings * Set talent strategy for manufacturing including completing talent reviews, foster performance discussions and supporting development of employee career paths * Interview and select candidates to fill key vacant manufacturing salaried positions * Ensure legal compliance covering labor relations, OSHA, EEOC, safety, employment, wage & hour, worker's comp. etc. * Provide strong employee relations consultation on a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, performance improvement, resolution of employee issues, coaching and advising leaders on effective use of disciplinary counseling process * Ensure timely and accurate compliance with mandatory corporate training requirements (Ethics, Conflict of Interest, etc.) * Work with key stakeholders to assess and determine development needs, skill gaps, curriculum design and delivery methods, implementation and evaluation of program effectiveness * Define and establish key performance measurements to monitor training effectiveness and best practices * Lead manufacturing performance management process to ensure employee performance is evaluated, that employees are aware of performance and development needs required to effectively support organizational objectives * Review plant proposals on annual wage and benefit changes; coach local team in preparing materials for senior leadership review. * Work with Corporate Legal and other sources to assure Internal Human Resources policy and practice compliance QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's DegreeApply here: https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=YmJnZW5lcmljLjYxMTYzLjEwNTA4QHZlcnRpdmNvbXAuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t
