The Amazon Robotics (AR) Global Robotics Delivery (GRD) organization manufactures high-quality robotics for design centers across Amazon. It’s a fast-paced operation that works cross-functionally with teams across Amazon globally. The Advanced Product Quality Engineering (APQE) team is a multi-disciplinary organization that is responsible for Quality Engineering and Quality Systems Management across AR’s Global Enterprise. This position will report to AR Manipulation Product Quality Manager.

We are seeking a talented and motivated engineer with a proven track record of implementing New Product Introduction (NPI) quality/validation strategy. You will be working with cross-functional teams that engages in product development for both internal and external manufacturing operations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Support and promote a workplace environment that embraces diversity and inclusion.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to produce artifacts like Quality Plans, Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Critical to Quality (CTQ) metrics, and Design for X (DfX) guidelines.

  • Provide guidance to product development teams on supplier selection, assessment, audits, and development decisions.

  • Conduct activities such as requirements definition, qualification, production process validation, inspection, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), metrics reporting, and continuous improvement.

  • Work closely with Hardware, Manufacturing, Process, and Test Engineers to establish success criteria during New Product Introduction (NPI).

  • Represent the Advanced Product Quality Engineering (APQE) team and report on status and risk mitigation efforts in NPI Program Reviews.

  • Partner with teams such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Test Engineering to drive data-driven risk mitigation strategies.

  • Lead investigations into failures and manage the resolution process.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% or as needed to meet program requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in a hardware quality engineering role or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • 8+ years of experience in a hardware quality engineering role or similar

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deliver high-quality output within tight deadlines.

  • CQE or Six Sigma Certification preferred.

  • Expert knowledge in manufacturing processes, ISO 9000, quality control plans, and failure analysis or problem-solving methodologies.

  • Project management experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple qualification activities and development schedules.

  • Proven experience working with external design and manufacturing supply chain partners.
