CITY OF WEST RICHLAND
BUILDING INSPECTOR
(Level I or II -- DOQ)
This position performs general inspections and enforcement activities pertaining to the construction, alteration, and repair of commercial and residential structures to ensure building, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and all applicable codes and standards are met.
Building Inspector II would have extensive residential and commercial plans review experience in compliance with building, mechanical, plumbing, land use, and related code requirements.
Full Time/ Non-Exempt
Building Inspector I: $5,200 - $7,500
Building Inspector II: $6,700 - $8,200

2 yr degree in construction management or closely related field, plus 4 yrs experience; or any combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the position successfully.
Required
Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
ICC cert as Building Inspector -- or ability to obtain within 6 months
Preferred
Plans Examiner Certification
Mechanical Inspector Certification
Plumbing Inspector Certification
