What You Will Do

This is a First Shift Opportunity as a painter LG7 . Hours are 6:30am-3:00pm

Plan and perform a variety of painting duties to prepare, coat and refinish interior and exterior plant equipment, materials, and structures. Determine the appropriate application method for various types of surface painting by selecting the proper brush, roller, or atomizing nozzle for conventional or airless spray gun, and apply standard or special coating mixtures to match colors to given shade.

Comply with all Company, Federal and State Environmental and Safety regulations and procedures.

Painting of various parts designed for industrial use such as metal, fiber glass, carbon fiber and wood.

Well-rounded knowledge of appropriate surface preparation for rust removal, grinding, sanding, pressure washing, and media blasting.

Proper technique for applying paint to metals, woods, fiber glass and carbon fiber with various tools such as sprayers, rollers, and brushes.

Experience handling fiber glass repairs including patching, scratch removal, buffing and polishing to original factory specifications.

Use of various types of equipment such as, ladders, boom lifts, scissor lifts, erect scaffolding, and respirators wherever necessary to assure safe and most convenient work.

Clean and maintain painting equipment such as spray guns, brushes, rollers, and hoses.

Surface preparations such as filling holes or cracks in materials with appropriate patching compounds, masking areas for protection, and removing lose paint, waxes, rust or oils.

Tint, blend, and mix a wide variety of coatings such as enamels, lacquers, stains, acrylics, varnishes, epoxies, and other finishing materials to match colors to given shades.

Perform various assigned jobs directed by supervision, excluding non-business-related activities such as interior and exterior building painting, non-equipment, non-materials, non-structure, and cosmetic upgrades, etc.

Perform various assigned jobs in support of Environment Health & Safety (EH&S) requirements.

Use of proper protective equipment (PPE) such as, respirators will be required.

Basic knowledge of computer skills to maintain records and remain in compliance with required trainings.

May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications, such as Secret Clearance, for mechanical/electronic repair work within assigned area

Qualifications You Must Have

High School diploma or GED

Must have 2 years work related experience in Welding and\or Aerospace, automotive or commercial experience as a mechanic.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
