OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager of Commodity Logistics, the Commodity Logistics Analyst is responsible for coordinating Global vessel arrivals and departures, monitoring Discharge and Storage Plans, and completing required logistical documentation for successful on and off-loading of cargo. Additionally, the Commodity Logistics Analyst will troubleshoot and resolve issues through analysis and effective communication with both internal and external resources to accomplish organizational objectives.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
In conjunction with the Manager of Commodity Logistics, coordinates vessel arrivals with dock managers, agents, brokers, and customs officials and resolve issues; provides professional guidance regarding effective use of equipment
Review and approve all documentation from shippers at load in a timely manner
Monitors and maintains schedules related to vessels, labor and equipment maintenance; disseminates information to the appropriate parties
Identifies daily trends and results to categorize deficiencies and plan for potential improvements
In conjunction with the Manager of Commodity Logistics, coordinates and ensures proper and complete offloading of sugar cargoes based on a prearranged discharge plan(s)
Plans for proper labor coverage for scale, belt and silo operations in conjunction with the Process Manager
Conducts regular reviews and updates of logistics schedules; prepares daily operations reports and documentation
Completes business related special and ad-hoc projects/project components. Contributes to the definition of project purpose, scope, deliverables, timelines, and communicates regularly on project status.
Documents resolutions to repetitive issues; reduces the number of incidents by referencing prior troubleshooting methods
Monitors and oversees Discharge Plan(s); reviews with dock managers prior to and after each discharge; identifies deficits and adjusts plan accordingly
Monitors and oversees Storage Plan(s); ensures all pertinent vessel information is communicated to the Process Manager; checks that storage plan(s) are followed
Manages Louisiana refinery and corresponding outside warehouses; direct contact with shippers, truckers, outside warehouses and dock manager
Oversees monthly sustainability reporting
Direct liaison with the accounting group; vessel payments, contract applications, inventory movements
Performs other duties as assigned
WORK EXPERIENCES
5-7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in logistics
Proven ability to analyze information and perform root cause analysis
Ability to utilize ITAS reporting and analyze results
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary business information at all times
Proven ability to effectively manage time, including the ability to prioritize, work within assigned deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively to accomplish organizational objectives
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining quality & accuracy standards
Proven ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook at an Intermediate Level or higher
Proven ability to perform Microsoft Excel- Pivot Tables, V- lookup, Formulas, Macros, Data Analysis
Proven ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
Bi-lingual capability is a plus (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Agri-Business, Economics, or related field
