Director, Manufacturing Operations - Production

How you will make an impact:

We are seeking a proactive Director, Manufacturing Operations to aid in the streamlining of production efficiency. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, this leadership role is based in West Hills, CA, and is responsible for the planning and provisioning of production processes. This role will monitor quality standards and costs and provide administrative support to manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop teams performing the production process for new or existing assay products and technologies.

  • Demonstrate and enable effective leadership and management practices across the team to drive colleague engagement and retention.

  • Partners with Supply Chain and other manufacturing functions to plan, and schedule, and complete production tasks in accordance with the inventory and operations plans. Provide technical knowledge to support on-market products which including future versions, trouble shooting, supporting quality investigations, and CAPAs.

  • Prepares budget and project cost estimates for materials, equipment, and staff, and coordinates all projects involving Operations Manufacturing.

  • Identify and mitigate risks and obstacles that may impact the manufacturing process, proactively implementing solutions to ensure production and business continuity.

  • Works with manufacturing science leader to coordinate engineering support to procure and monitor production equipment services.

  • Provides regular and as-needed communication updates to internal collaborators on the status of projects, risks, and mitigations.

  • Track manufacturing critical metrics and initiate follow-up actions as needed in collaboration with internal partners as needed.

  • Responsible for leading ensure compliance and SOP adherence with quality standards.

  • Lead operational efficiency initiatives including driving all PPI project execution within manufacturing.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, in production management, operations management, or STEM field.

A track record of over 8 years in a managerial role, coordinating manufacturing teams with a scientific approach.

Previous experience working in a regulated life sciences industry with direct manufacturing experience required. Transplant diagnostics a plus.

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to collaborate with various partners (internal and external) and build effective partnerships.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standard processes commonly used in the industry.

Experience in automation and implementation of new workflows and equipment for operational efficiencies.

Proficiency in quality control, running budgets, and production costing.

Competence with computer-based administration, record-keeping, and procurement systems.

Availability to work extended hours to meet deadlines, when necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $144,100.00–$216,100.00.
