Responsibilities

Three Rivers Midlands is seeking a talented, skilled, and experienced Dorm Leader

Three Rivers Midlands is a comprehensive behavioral health facility treating children and adolescents through residential and Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBH). We treat males and females ages 11-18 for a wide spectrum of psychiatric issues, addictive behaviors, and chemical dependency related illnesses.

The Dorm Leader Key Responsibilities include:

Serve as a role model for residents and residential counselors. Ensures environment remains safe and normative culture remains positive throughout facility. Serves as a program liason by planning and organizing events with the charge nurse. Contributes to formulation, implementation and revision of the resident individual treatment plan (ITP). Promotes development of residents' daily living skills through appropriate assignment, instruction, and supervision of tasks. Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following proper restraint technique guidelines, and displaying neutral emotions. Ensures optimal communication by relaying pertinent resident care information for change of shift report, team logs, communication books and complex staff meetings. This opening is for second shift, regularly scheduled 3:00pm to 11:30pm during the week, 12 hour shifts on rotating weekends, and mandatory stay requirements.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree in psychology or a related field with at least one year experience preferred Direct experience working with adolescents and children in a residential/educational/juvenile setting. At least one year demonstrated supervisory experience. Knowledge: Must possess demonstrated leadership ability, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, strong oral and written communication skills. Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships as relates to child/ adolescents therapeutic processes, child/adolescent growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, CPI & CPR. Must have valid SCDL in good standing to be an eligible driver; must be able to work in a fast paced environment
