Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Foreman with extensive experience in underground, new construction work, and fixture installation. The successful candidate will work with cast iron pipes, no hub, and install drain waste and vent systems. Proficiency in cutting and threading pipe, reading blueprints and specifications, and performing both rough-in and finish work is required. Current projects include CPVC and PVC work, installing water lines, and working on large commercial construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems according to specifications or plumbing codes.

  • Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe to required angles using pipe cutters, hand or power tools, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machines.

  • Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, establish the sequence of pipe installations, and plan installations.

  • Locate and mark the positions of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels.

  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.

  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.

  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers, water heaters, sinks, and toilets.

  • Direct helpers engaged in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of plumbing systems or components.

  • Install underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as needed to connect fixtures and plumbing.

  • Maintain or repair plumbing by replacing defective washers, mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drains.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in plumbing (candidates with 3-4 years may be considered at a lower pay rate).

  • Proficiency in installing and repairing pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

  • Experience with domestic water and sanitary systems in large commercial construction.

  • Proficiency in rough-in and finish work for plumbing installations.

  • Experience with CPVC, PVC, and cast iron pipes.

  • Basic hand tools required.

Work Environment

Work on a new construction site at Orlando Health Hospital in Wesley Chapel. Be comfortable working in various weather conditions and alongside other contractors. The work schedule includes four 10-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with potential opportunities for overtime.
