Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Brand Operations, Planning, and Production is a key member of the Brand Strategy + Experience team, responsible for aligning business goals with Integrated Marketing approaches by planning, coordinating and managing the production of all core customer-facing communications. This role will be a lead catalyst between brand, category teams, and other business stakeholders focusing on omnichannel strategies up to and including the development and deployment of content, that distinguishes Wawa from competition and increases customer count. Our ideal candidate will have experience managing cross-functional marketing teams, creating processes for seamless execution and brand consistency, and integrating consumer and industry research to maximize impact.

Principal Duties:

  • Responsible for leading Wawa’s Integrated Marketing Communications practice, acting as a thought partner and collaborator to the Wawa Brand Creative team on how best to formulate and execute Wawa’s advertising strategy to reflect strategic goals and customer count

  • Lead successful and collaborative cross-functional relationships on that build strategic and impactful brand initiatives

  • Guide and deliver strong creative briefs and briefings, collaborating with and supporting business units, media, content and production teams throughout the process to ensure the brand is represented appropriately across all consumer touch points

  • Oversee application of brand guidelines and campaign style guides and collaborates with the Brand Experience Research and Design team on additional use cases and nuances

  • Collaborate with Consumer Insights, Brand Optimization, Marketing Center of Excellence, and outside vendor teams to leverage combination of customer feedback, data, and past performance to optimize advertising content by campaign.

  • Strategically plans impactful traditional and digital media plans across our chain that are optimized to reach the right customer, on the right channel at the right time

  • Guides the vision and growth of our internal media network offering

  • Provide executive summaries demonstrating campaign progress and success against metrics and make suggestions on future campaigns based on learnings

  • Manage operational efficiency of the Brand Strategy + Experience organization, developing and overseeing processes such as new vendor onboarding, vendor negotiations, account management, POs, Invoicing and other similar areas.

  • Manage a team who develops, designs and produces all of key advertising and promotional materials, including package design, traditional and non-traditional media, digital signage and store POP.

  • Manage and partner with external advertising agencies, print vendors, design firms and fulfillment houses

  • Lead team and provide overall direction and support for team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. Provide feedback, coaching, support, opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when appropriate, and participate in hiring decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Proven experience leading full integrated brand campaigns

  • Strong leadership and project management skills to manage integrated campaigns

  • Management experience and leadership skills with the ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop, mentor and coach team members for high performance

  • Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization both orally and written

  • Highly developed consultative, facilitation, project management and presentation skills

  • Analyze information and effectively propose solutions

  • Exceptional relationship building, negotiation, and leadership skills. Proven ability to build consensus, develop strong relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization

  • Handle multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Work independently

  • Ability to understand data and leverage to make decisions

  • Organize and plan projects in a timely and efficient manner

  • Establish and maintain a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and teamwork

  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality

  • Ability to use data, knowledge and consumer insights to ensure that programs are appropriate and appealing to Wawa customers

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets and high-volume campaign production needs

  • Ability to travel 25% to oversee various video and photo shoots throughout Wawa’s various areas

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree preferred

  • Minimum ten years’ experience in strategy development, advertising & promotion, media planning, packaging, project management and agency management with a retailer, consumer packaged goods company or major advertising/promotion agency

  • Omnichannel and strong traditional and digital marketing experience

  • Five years of people management

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products
