Eaton Corporation Senior HR Generalist in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Eaton’s Electrical Systems & Services Group, Power Systems Division (PSD) has an opening for a Human Resource Generalist. This position is located in Waukesha, WI at Lincoln Ave.

Supporting the site HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will provide HR support to a 200 person manufacturing plant consisting of salaried and hourly employees across various organizational functions. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to daily responsibilities requiring expertise in the areas of Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance and Talent Management, and Coaching. This role will have visibility and interaction with the PSD Division Leadership Team

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

  • Provides counsel and support to resolve interpersonal conflicts and employee relations issues.

  • Oversees FMLA, Disability and Worker’s Compensation benefits to maintain fair and consistent application across the plant. Works to resolve issues that may arise.

  • Coordinates and leads various Plant Engagement, Recognition, Wellness Programs and Events.

  • Assist in planning, developing and administering a site-wide robust Training program.

  • Build relationships with client groups and work to enhance overall communications at facility.

  • Lead the community involvement team to include the annual United Way campaign activities. Engage, guide and direct employee involvement in community events.

  • Partner with management to ensure positive employee relations.

  • Conducts general or specific training sessions where needed based upon needs.

  • Provides assistance and administrative support in the areas of employment processing, HRIS data entry, and recruiting requisition processing.

  • Recruits & hires site employees and provides daily oversight for employment process.

  • Deploy and support all HR initiatives, programs, processes and systems as required and assigned.

  • Support and execute the deployment of HR Special Projects as assigned by the HRM.

  • Leads investigations on employee relations matters and provides advanced coaching, consulting and facilitation skills to influence behaviors consistent with Eaton Leadership model.

  • Collaborates with HR Services on all transactional HR matters.

  • Ensure integrity in all HR systems with timely and accurate data entry and frequent audits.

  • Responsible for running and creating reports, analyzing information and providing proposals based on the data for the Human Resources Manager.

  • Maintain and administer the site’s payroll and time & attendance processes.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management / Industrial / Labor Relations/ or related field

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Human Resources

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates currently residing within a 50 mile radius of the posted locations will be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR certification

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Specialized knowledge of the interpretation of laws, regulations and standards, and enforcement agencies for equal employment opportunities, safety, wage and hour, unemployment, workers’ compensation and labor law.

  • Coaching/Facilitation/Conflict Management skills

Skills:

  • Excellent PC skills are required: Microsoft applications and Outlook

  • Excellent communication and employee relations skills required

  • Knowledge of current Federal and State labor/employment laws

  • Ability to process confidential information in a professional manner

  • Solutions-oriented thinker that employs analytics and problem solving to all situations

  • Employs a communication style that is consultative and accessible to all levels of employees and managers

  • Articulates and describes situations clearly and concisely through verbal and written communication

  • Utilizes effective presentation and facilitation skills in order to show value to the audience

  • Able to shift quickly from tactical to strategic to project-focused

  • Adaptable and comfortable in a fast changing, matrix management environment

  • Ability to understand, interpret and easily communicate and align policies and practices to the Eaton Philosophy & Values and Code of Ethics.

  • Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels in a highly-matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrate discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials and possess good business judgment.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience.

  • Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations.

  • Provide support for overall Health and safety system, MESH. Will be the owner for at least one MESH category for the site.
