Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Principle Cybersecurity Architect (AVP level) to lead and manage Global Cybersecurity Services (GCS) architecture team. GCS has global responsibilities for all aspects of Information Security. The Architecture Team is tasked with being thought leaders and to provide guidance to the various security teams. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in information security, information and systems architecture, and departmental management.

This is a People Manager role with executive level Leadership experience along with proven experience in managing and establishing Cyber Security Architecture Department.

Work Locations: Boston - USA or Toronto-Canada or Waterloo - Canada

Work arrangement: Role requires to be Hybrid - 3 days from nearest Office, 2 days from Home

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Department: Lead a team of Information Security Architects, manage the team’s maturity, maintain Departmental Plan, and oversight on backlog / backlog management.

  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential security threats within the organization's systems.

  • Develop Security Patterns: Lead team to develop Security Patterns and then extensively communicate and train organization on these patterns.

  • Security Standards and Policies: Collaborate Security Line 2 and provide oversight on the development security policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure Collaboration: Work closely with GCS and Segment teams and other stakeholders to integrate security measures into the development lifecycle of projects and systems.

  • Emerging Technologies: Stay informed about advancements in cybersecurity technologies and trends to recommend and implement new security solutions.

  • Compliance: Ensure that security practices adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and legal requirements, and assist in audits to demonstrate compliance.

  • Security Architecture Review: Regularly review and update the security architecture to adapt to changing threats and technologies.

  • Budgeting: Work with management to establish and manage budgets for security-related initiatives, tools, and resources.

  • Expand the Practice: Look for opportunities to increase the breadth and scope of Security Architecture to provide comprehensive view and guidance for security practices.

What we are looking for

  • A People Manager with Exec level Leadership experience

  • Proven experience in managing and establishing Cyber Security Architecture Department.

  • Security architecture, demonstrating solutions delivery, principles and emerging technologies – Designing and implementing security solutions. This includes continuous monitoring and making improvements to those solutions, working with an information security team.

  • Consulting and engineering in the development and design of security best practices and implementation of solid security principles across the organization, to meet business goals along with customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Security considerations of cloud computing: They include data breaches, broken authentication, hacking, account hijacking, malicious insiders, third parties, APTs, data loss and DoS attacks.

  • Experience in an multi-cloud environment

  • Identity and access management (IAM) – the framework of security policies and technologies that limit and track the access of those in an organization to sensitive technology resources.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$123,400.00 CAD - $229,300.00 CAD
