Job Description
The Financial Analyst role will be a business advisor responsible for assisting in revenue and gross margin management the Canadian operations of FLIR Unmanned Aerial Systems ULC. This role will perform various tasks to help plan, analyze, and improve the efficiency of processes and other financial operations across our different business lines.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage various revenue projects, including tracking, reconciling and quoting / invoicing to various external and intercompany customers, including but not limited to time based contractual revenue
Coordinate certain supply chain functions such as shipping, receiving and purchasing as required
Assist in the timely closing of month end including reconditions, intercompany balances, accruals and related journal entries, including analysis & regular reporting to management
Prepare journal entries, including the maintenance of an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for financial transactions
Responsible for driving software and systems optimization (ERP or otherwise), including implementation plans, needs / gap assessment, testing, and designing / implementing robust system-level internal controls
Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable when required
Assist with regulatory compliance such as financial, SOX and tax reporting and GST/PST returns
Other Ad Hoc analysis, reporting or functions as required
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
2+ years related Accounting experience
Prior in-depth work experience with an ERP system is mandatory, preferably SAP
Advanced Excel skillset with the ability to utilize formulas
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, detail and care in workmanship
Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong business & finance acumen, understanding of the business, and interconnectivity of financials
Eligible to be certified to examine, possess, and transfer items under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and legally authorized to work in Canada
