  • Work will be performed in multiple worksites throughout South Michigan in the county of Oakland, in multiple cities in towns.
  • Workers will be doing landscaping duties or maintaining property using hand or power tool equipment. Workers will typically perform various tasks, including any combination of the following: Sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, snowblowers, snow removal equipment, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Gather and remove litter. Use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, pruning saws, hedges, bush trimmers, or axes. Operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin- axels, snowblowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws---water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans. Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using shears, pruners, or chainsaws. Workers must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • There are 12 openings for Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers for temporary, full-time employment.
  • Workers will be paid no less than $17.55 per/hour and $26.33 for all hours worked over 40 hours in one workweek; returning workers may be paid a higher wage rate due to experience, location, and merit. Overtime may be available but not guaranteed.
  • Workers must have at least three months of experience in landscaping
  • The employer will provide on-the-job training to use equipment and safety techniques
  • Employer will offer 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; depending on weather conditions, work on Saturdays may be required.
  • Workers are needed to begin work on 10/18/2023 through 07/31/2024.
  • The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages Workers will be paid bi-weekly by check.
  • The employer will assist the workers with housing accommodations by helping them contact local rental agencies.
  • The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from recruitment to the place of Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment.
  • The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46 p/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 p/day with

     

The employer will provide daily transportation to and from the job site by providing the workers with a vehicle. Workers will be able to use the vehicle for personal use, and the maintenance, fuel, and insurance will be maintained by the employer.
