Actalent Pharmacy Technician in Washington, North Carolina

Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will fill prescription items as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy. Your responsibilities will include packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, ensuring accuracy and productivity standards are met. You will label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels, and participate in periodic inventory checks, stocking shelves, and removing out-of-date items. Additionally, you will prepare medications such as emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may involve non-sterile compounding. Your role involves significant interaction with internal and external customers, maintaining a pleasant and professional manner. Other duties include processing returned medications for credit or destruction, assisting in training new employees, and possibly working in controlled drug areas, managing inventory, data entry, mixing IV medications, and servicing medication dispensing machines. You will also perform other tasks as assigned.
