For more information visit: OALJ Responsibilities This position is located within the Office of Administrative Law Judges (OALJ). OALJ is charged with resolving cases set for hearing concerning natural gas, oil, electric, and hydroelectric matters, in a manner that is consistent with the public interest, protects customers, and promotes competitive markets. As a Program and Management Analyst some of your typical work assignments may include: Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, using appropriate language, and organizing and conveying facts and ideas clearly, concisely, and objectively. Performing research and compiling data and other material, which may be required by the Judge. Effectively utilizing Commission tracking systems to conduct analysis in cases pending before the judges. Providing assistance on all human resources programs and issues to office managers and employees including, but not limited to, recruiting, performance management, travel and training request processing, employee enter on duty processes and employee separations, timekeeping, space management and property inventory. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or National. You must provide your SF-50 (see Required Documents section). A one-year probationary period may be required. A background investigation is required. This is a bargaining unit position. Generally, male applicants must be registered with the Selective Service. Specialized experience is defined as: providing support in various areas of Commission and office policies and programs; assisting with various administrative tasks; and advising managers and employees regarding regulatory and procedural human resources requirements. Specialized experience also includes assisting judges with formal hearings and settlements by performing various administrative tasks. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
