Autodesk's Entertainment & Media Solutions (EMS) team is on a mission to enable anyone, anywhere, to create incredible digital entertainment. Autodesk is building Flow, the industry cloud that connects people, workflows, and data across the entire Entertainment & Media production lifecycle from earliest concept to final delivery.

Autodesk Flow Capture is a powerful and secure cloud-based digital dailies and review tool, connecting on-set and postproduction. In March 2024, Autodesk completed the acquisition of PIX, a global collaboration and asset-sharing service for the film and entertainment industry, as an addition to our product suite alongside Moxion, our Production Capture tool. We are looking for a leader who can help create a best of breed Flow Capture product with the capabilities of both Moxion and PIX products. This leader is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working at scale and puts big data to work, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts, and above all else, is passionate about building innovative solutions and developing talent.

As Director of Software Development for Flow Capture, you will be responsible for building and running the Flow Capture cloud product, integrate the teams from PIX/Moxion into a high performing engineering organization, and deliver a delightful product to our customers across the entertainment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, design, and other disciplines to ensure strategic alignment, frictionless product development process, and high-quality outcomes

  • Leading and managing multiple software engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Overseeing the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products and services

  • Deliver operational excellence through continuous improvement and data driven decision making

  • Lead your teams with clear strategic direction and operating conditions while coaching the next generation of technical leaders at Autodesk

  • Define and build key engineering metrics ensuring good velocity across your teams

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the team, including budget, resource allocation, investment asks, organizational reviews etc.

  • Be a thought leader, staying informed of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, to ensure alignment across Autodesk to deliver a cohesive and industry-leading customer experience

  • Own and execute broader initiatives that drive the success of the EMS business objectives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing an organization of +40, with managers of managers

  • 10+ years of related engineering and product development experience

  • Proven engineering experience with 4+ years in a senior engineering leadership role

  • Experience leading teams in development and operations of cloud platform, services, or products

  • Fluent in current cloud product development methodologies and trends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the Media & Entertainment industries

  • Experience successfully integrating M&A engineering organization

  • Experience leading and building cloud services with high traffic (millions of users)

  • Experience building products with technologies such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence

  • Experience working with data analytics

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $193,800 and $313,500. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $174,600 and $240,130. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
