ABBTECH Professional Resources, Inc. 911 Support Technician - Night Shift Due 11/6 in Washington, District Of Columbia

This position's hours will be from 2 PM to 10:30 PM, 5 days a week.
Position Description: This position is in the Information Technology (IT) Division of Office Communications (OUC), Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice. The OUC Technology Division manages all Public Safety Communications for the District of Columbia, including 911 telephone, system network, Radio Communications, Voice Recording, and LAN/WAN systems. The Tier II technicians will be required to provide technical support to the OUC’s 911 MDC systems, 911 applications, and computers.
The position involves walking, bending, driving, standing, stooping, and carrying light items such as computer hardware and electronic devices. The work is performed in an office setting with adequate light, heat, and ventilation. Duties may have to be performed at offsite agency stakeholder locations. Resources will be required to work weekends and evening shifts.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides analysis related to IT hardware product design, development, and implementation.
Develop test strategies, devices, and systems.
Performs stress and performance tests on various computer hardware, including circuit boards, processors, and wiring.
Provide OUCIT Department support services, including Systems on Radio Technology, Dispatch Operations, network system support and operations, subscriber radio, and MDC maintenance support. The support includes all other associated agency applications.
Support IT for Mobile Routers, including Router imaging; Router installation; Vehicle electrical wiring for Router equipment; Perform minor repairs; Software updates and installation; Router performance reports and review; Bi-annual maintenance; Tablets/Toughbooks; Imaging and configuration; Testing of software updates and security patches; MPS (Client for CAD) and CAD user administration; Execute major deployment plans for FEMS and MPD; Bi-annual maintenance; Coordinate Firewall requirements with OCTO for additional agency SW integration as required. Vehicle electrical wiring for tablet/Toughbooks.
Provide IT support for MVPN-Net Motion/Zscaler, including connectivity monitoring and reporting, software updates, performance reporting, troubleshooting, and diagnostic coverage analysis.
Provide IT support for System and Network Infrastructure, including monitor alarms and escalation.
Provide IT support to the 911 / 311 call floor, including Reviewing daily checks of call floor workstations, testing software updates, troubleshooting software bugs, monitoring and escalating major system glitches, and providing end-user IT support.
Participates in the technical steering and development of the global customer support function, which is defined as intra-agency collaboration between key Technology and Training stakeholders under the management of OUC IT.
Produces test plans and acceptance procedures for vendor applications and hardware.
Develops and refines SOP documentation that supports the daily operations of interactive customer support functions.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

Experience participating in developing recommendations on trends & new technologies within the context of agency policies, plans, and management strategies | Required | 2
Experience with IT security principles, methods, and tools to participate in defining IT security requirements & support security applications. | Required | 2
Experience with systems analysis methods, tools, and technical documentation methods to translate requirements into basic system specifications. | Required | 2
Experience with operating systems installation and configuration procedures to assist in installing & maintaining the operating system environment. | Required | 2
Experience with network standards, and network management tools to perform routine network configuration management functions. | Required | 2
Experience with maintaining database operations and assisting in returning disrupted database systems to normal operations. | Required | 2
Experience monitoring system performance & recovering data in the event of hardware/software failure. | Required | 2
experience with customer support, problem resolution databases, and troubleshooting techniques | Required | 2
A+ or Network+ certifications preferred but not required | Highly desired
Position Details:
- Pay Rate / Range: $20-$30
The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
