Microsoft Corporation Project Controls Coordinator in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia

Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the world’s largest cloud infrastructures, responsible for powering all Microsoft online Products and Services as well as powering Microsoft’s “Cloud First” mission. Our Global Project Controls team supports the delivery of CO+I’s mission and vision as the trusted advisors that deliver a definitive, responsive, and timely project controls program to all business areas via the industry’s best people, work processes, systems, and tools. This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to ​relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to (50)%.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the team's Rhythm of Business (ROB) and works with both internal and cross-functional team counterparts to manage team participation as needed for key business deliverables, running business reviews, and other strategic business planning activities.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and Microsoft teams to oversee the creation and implementation of execution plans, while ensuring alignment for strategic initiatives across functions for their area of ownership.

  • Tracks and reports on the success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]), such as quality, adoption, usage, impact, effectiveness) for the program.

  • Uses understanding of the organization's strategy and deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to support fiscal year budgeting and collaborates with leaders regarding resource management planning.

  • Contributes to cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and manage business needs.

  • Engages and supports project/program tracking and aspects of execution, including work on strategic efforts that require hands-on experience which may be across multiple disciplines.

  • Utilizes direction and strategy from leadership in order to help create and execute plans that shift current priorities to new organizational initiatives and objectives. Supports the vision, strategy, and flow of communication to the organization

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects and planning, complex monthly rhythms of business

Other Requirements:

The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, operations, finance, construction management or related field AND 8+ years experience in business program management, program management, process management, and/or project controls

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects and planning, complex monthly rhythms of business

  • Analytical capability to identify opportunities to optimize business operations

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with leadership and team members

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and exhibits agility

  • Able to approach a project with a ‘Big Picture View’ and work in a fully collaborative and team environment

  • Highly self-motivated, detail oriented, problem solving, and comfortable with taking the lead on projects/initiatives

  • Growth mindset to promote scalability and efficiency

  • Execution experience with proven track record

Construction Project Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
