The Sherwin-Williams Company R&D Technician in Warrensville Heights, Ohio

This position is responsible for supporting lead chemists on the vehicle refinish Toner Development team. This position will support new product development and validation of development work. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to the design and execution of experiments, draw conclusions and make recommendations. Operate within a team setting to contribute to project planning, brainstorming, data collection, and reporting of results. Comply with test methods according to set standards. Document all formulation processes. Function with sustained supervision and write simple reports, outlining procedures used and the results obtained. Complete proper forms and documents when necessary. Attend quality, safety, technical meetings and seminars as necessary. Comply with all safety and security regulations and maintain a clean work area. Manage work in accordance of timeline goals. Adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times. Additional duties as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status). Must have High School Diploma or the equivalent of. Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to determine the difference between colors so you can correctly tint paint to the colors desired by customers. Knowledge of basic math skills Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysis using Microsoft Software Applications Knowledge of basic coating concepts and property calculations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma with 2 semesters General Chemistry 1 or more years of experience in a laboratory 1 or more years of experience in coatings industry Travel Requirements: 5% Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in Q4 2024. Until then, the role will be based at the Warrensville Technical Center, located at 4440 Warrensville Center Rd Warrensville Heights, OH 44128.
