Class Summary

Job Description

This class is responsible for performing journeyman trades duties in specialty area. This position is assigned to the DWR Central but may be responsible for work at other DWR facilities. Job duties will include building maintenance, operation of facilities grounds maintenance equipment, landscape maintenance, painting and pressure washing.

  • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.

    Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

The Grades for these positions are:

Trades Technician I - A12(3) - $34,789 - $44,356

Trades Technician II - B21 (3) - $41,062 - $53,381

Trades Technician III – B23 (3) - $48,658 - $63,256

Minimum Qualifications

  • Trades Tech I:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license

  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment

  • Trades Tech II:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license

  • Two years of trades experience

  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment

  • Trades Tech III:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license

  • Four years of trades experience

  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
