License/Certifications Required:
Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, or related field, or Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field, and eligibility for appropriate licensure in North Carolina. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain licensure in North Carolina within one year of start date and maintain licensure for the continuation of the appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following is a list of preferred qualifications:
For doctoral applicants, APA approved training for both academic and internship preparation.
Experience in a university counseling center with a student affairs perspective.
Experience as a clinical supervisor.
Demonstrated interest, skill, and experience in one of the following areas:
Group Therapy, including coordination of the Counseling Center’s Group Therapy program.
Providing clinical services and outreach programming for men.
Psychological testing and assessment, including providing assessment training for trainees.
Providing clinical services and outreach programming to historically underserved populations including but not limited to students of color, LGBTQQ+, and veterans.
Candidates should also be committed to a proactive student development perspective involving an active relationship with the campus community; demonstrate cultural awareness in their work; be team-oriented and collaborative with students, colleagues, and university staff; and have broad generalist clinical skills in assessing and intervening with a wide range of disorders, concerns, and degrees of pathology.
