What we want

The Conflict of Interest/Responsible Conduct of Research office is seeking a Senior Research Compliance Coordinator responsible for providing assistance in research administration compliance, including financial conflicts of interest, outside activity requests, and Huron software support. We seek to hire a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree and four years research administration, compliance or related field. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Federal and University regulations pertaining to financial conflicts of interest, and/or experience in research administration/compliance and two years experience with software management, audit and/or compliance monitoring. Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years of related experience in compliance, research administration, or other related field.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Requires tact and diplomacy and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Requires strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

    Preferred Education and Experience

  • Two years of experience in research compliance related area, financial conflicts of interest, software management, audit and/or compliance monitoring.

  • Working knowledge of Federal and University regulations pertaining to financial conflicts of interest, and/or experience in research administration/compliance.

  • Experience working with database and spreadsheet software.

  • Working knowledge of MAESTRO, Workday, AggieBuy, Huron, or other University systems.

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional working relationships with people of varied backgrounds.

    Responsibilities

  • Conflicts of Interest/Commitment - Provides preliminary review of annual financial conflict of interest disclosures for compliance including providing recommendations to supervisor and feedback to customers. Assists with drafting and routing of management plans. Coordinates and assists with any necessary compliance meetings. Assists with the reviews of annual disclosures. Assists with monitoring nepotism on sponsored research projects. Assists with institutional conflicts of interest.

  • Outside Activities - Responsible for ensuring outside activity approval requests are routed correctly; reviews outside activity requests as necessary; provides oversight of reports, routing paths and workflows pertaining to disclosures and pre-approval requests within Huron. Responsible for monitoring disclosures and other requests, including external employment and global engagement, for compliance with Federal, State, and University requirements pertaining to export controls, conflicts of interest/commitment, and research security. Develops training materials and user guides pertaining to Huron and conducts training and outreach sessions as needed.

  • Program Support - Assists in the development, implementation, and updating of policies and procedures relating to all applicable program areas. Coordinates with existing program staff to maintain electronic and paper files ensuring all are up-to-date and complete. Assists staff in the development of training materials and conducts regulatory training as needed. Assists in updating and maintaining online training resources and other materials and program websites. Serves as a liaison between the programs and the research community as appropriate. Consults and advises faculty, staff, and students in the preparation of required documents based on knowledge of guidelines, rules and Federal regulations. Works with supervisor in the development or modification of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and office processes.
