Project Title: Self-Management and Glycemic Control in Adult Haitian Immigrants with Type 2 Diabetes
The role of the research project manager is to lead the daily operations of multiple research projects examining the societal factors that influence behavior change and chronic disease management among Haitian immigrants with type 2 diabetes. The project manager will manage all facets of the day-to-day operations under supervision of the principal investigator (PI), lead analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, and ensure that all milestones for the projects are reached. Effective day-to-day collaboration with all project personnel and community stakeholders is key.
Specific Responsibilities:
Plan, direct, coordinate, and lead the implementation of the projects to ensure that its goals and objectives are met within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Develop relationships with health centers and coordinate recruitment of study participants.
Liaise with stakeholders, collaborators, and Haitian ethnic news media to build trust and ensure that all parties are included.
Coordinate translation of English documents into Haitian Creole.
Refine and implement tracking protocols to maintain high follow-up and retention rates.
Organize community outreach activities and assist the PI to develop educational manuals, stories for the Haitian news media, and posters in Haitian Creole and English.
Manage IRB processes including modifications and continuing reviews.
Lead analysis of qualitative data and run basic analyses on quantitative data.
Manage a part-time research assistant, budget, submit purchase orders and reimbursements.
Assist in writing, preparation, and submission of manuscripts.
Write annual reports to the funder and other entities.
Assist with other general office duties (e.g., schedule team meetings, copying, filing, and organizing research documents).
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $82,000.00.
