First Horizon Bank Intern - Communication in United States

Our 10-week internship offers a comprehensive and immersive experience for students interested in gaining practical knowledge and skills in the banking industry. Each week, you will be exposed to different leaders and aspects of the line of business. You will have the opportunity to complete tasks that will help you understand the day-to-day operations of a bank and develop a well-rounded skillset. Additionally, you will have the chance to receive guidance from experienced professionals in the field, participate in meetings, and network with other interns and associates. By the end of the 10 weeks, you will have gained valuable insights, built a solid foundation in banking practices, and potentially set the stage for future career opportunities at First Horizon.

While this is a full time summer internship, there can be some flexibility in the schedule and number of hours worked weekly, within normal business hours.

The Intern will learn and assist with the day-to-day duties of the members, including:

SharePoint | Compass (company intranet)

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team to gather requirements and content for SharePoint pages.

  • Assist with design of engaging and user-friendly SharePoint pages to meet business needs.

  • Assist with updating and maintaining SharePoint pages to ensure content is current and accurate.

  • Analyze SharePoint usage and traffic to provide insight and recommendations for improving content and associate engagement.

Creation of Microsoft Forms

  • Design and create Microsoft Forms for surveys, feedback, and data collection.

  • Work with stakeholders to define the purpose and requirements of each form.

  • Test forms to ensure functionality and ease of use.

  • Analyze and report on form responses to provide insight.

  • Maintain a library of forms and templates for future use.

Assist with Management of Corporate Communications Project Plan

  • Support the Corporate Communication team in maintaining and updating the project plan.

  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Assist in coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and taking meeting minutes.

  • Provide administrative support to Corporate Communications team members.

Assist with Storytelling (Company narrative)

  • Collaborate with community relations team members to gather compelling stories and news.

  • Publish stories on company’s intranet and submit for Associate Corner (newsletter).

  • Monitor the performance and engagement of published stories, providing feedback for continuous improvement and associate engagement.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving communication strategies.

  • Assist with collection, categorization and organization of photos submitted by associates for potential use in communications.

  • Assist with management of company-wide contests to increase associate engagement.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the communications team and department goals.

Qualifications

  • Full-time undergraduate student.

  • GPA of 3.0 or above.

  • Strong interest in business and finance.

  • team-oriented.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, self-starter.

  • Demonstrated leadership at work or campus.

  • Ability to interact people at all levels of an organization.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strategic and critical thinking skills.

Computer and Office Equipment Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • SharePoint or similar
