Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Manager of Behavioral Health Operations, this position performs a variety of duties for all Outpatient Behavioral Health Services and department staff. Responsibilities: Performs registration function for the Outpatient Behavioral Health Department, including the coordination of financial, demographic and insurance information necessary to register the patient into all department programs. In addition to the above primary responsibility the Financial Registration Coordinator will do the following: * Perform the registration and re-registration of all patients in the Department, including updating all demographic, guarantor and financial information, both monthly and upon change in level of care. * Monitor and enforce payment of the patient’s co-pays and personal financial responsibilities. * Verification of benefits for all patients upon registration * Acts as the Department liaison to Patient Accounts * Assists clients with Medicaid Applications and monitors the response/turn-around of time from Patient Accounts * Works closely with Authorization Manager to insure all data related to the registration, financial and insurance information is correct and that all services provided by the departments are payable. * Cross coverage to include front office duties to include answering phones, scanning, faxing, providing appointments for patients, etc. * Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Administrative Medical Assistant diploma or 1 year of patient accounts or related experience. Knowledge of insurance verification policies and procedures as well as hospital/insurance contracts. Epic experience preferred. Must have effective interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, as well as data entry and patient contact experience.
