Xylem Expert Field Service Technician in United States

Position Summary:

Xylem is looking for an Expert Field Service technician to service our customers in the Los Angeles, CA surrounding areas. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the service, and maintenance of our water purification equipment, utilizing a company service vehicle, within our Heavy Industries Division. Equipment specific training will be provided. Willing to train the right person, but previous technical/mechanical/plumbing experience is especially encouraged. This position has day shift hours with overtime opportunities.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • • Creates and maintains safe working environment and cultures within the organization

  • • Takes care of company property

  • • Works with more advanced and multi/complex systems

  • • Proactively trouble shoots systems for mechanical, electrical equipment conditions

  • • Anticipates and corrects safety issues – both company and customer owned equipment

  • • May be responsible for work in multiple systems, locations or customers

  • • Provides coaching or training to entry-level technicians

  • Organization Impact:

  • • Backup/escalation of technical service support

  • • Customer facing

  • • High utilization

  • • Highly accountable to customer for operation and repair of the system

What will put you ahead:

  • 2-5 years technical experience including industrial or commercial process water experience

  • Experience troubleshooting Reverse Osmosis water treatment systems.

  • Experience reading technical drawings and schematics

  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment

Position Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • Tech cert or degree or industry specific licenses

  • Technical military background preferred

  • Ability to obtain TWIC card

  • Experience with Microsoft office including smart devises

  • Must have customer service experience

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and trouble shooting ability

  • Able to operate company service vehicle safely

  • Able to pass a background check & pre-employment drug screen

Pay range: $32.26- $35.84/hourly
