Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Nuclear Facility Planner to work in our Maintenance Department assigned to the Materials and Fuels Complex. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off.

INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel development and fabrication through post irradiation analysis.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Evaluate maintenance work requests and develop a maintenance work plan which includes requirements for materials, labor resources, safety considerations, environmental compliance, special work permits, outages.
  • Coordinate the sequential planning of tasks to be performed by maintenance personnel assigned; specification and acquisition of necessary labor, tools, materials, and equipment to accomplish the tasks; scheduling, monitoring, expediting, and reporting on progress of tasks.
  • Obtain job materials and tools/equipment, and coordinate support crafts, operations, technical support to provide for smooth execution of maintenance work.
  • Review the incoming maintenance work request and appropriately categorize them. Create low risk simple activity, expedited, and planned work orders, and reduce hazards.
  • Improve the procedures used at MFC and INL

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR
  • 2 years of related experience with an Associate's degree OR
  • 6 years of related experience with a High School Diploma OR
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information:

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 1: ($54,876 - $107,064). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • You are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
