Job Description

District Managers will lead the Store Managers of multiple Trek direct owned stores within the Baltimore/East Virginia area. They will partner with the Store Managers to provide guidance on delivering outstanding hospitality, meeting all operating objectives, driving sales and financial goals, and holding them accountable to company policies and procedures. District Managers are leaders with a mindset of continuous improvement and drive to make their employees wildly successful.

This position is for an individual who has multi-unit experience with the ability to leverage individual stores to address and solve district wide opportunities. District Managers’ will build strong relationships with each store team through in-depth store visits with a focus on engaging and developing a bench for the next leaders within Trek. A District Manager’s goal is to inspire, guide, and empower each Store Manager to run a successful business that creates a Great Place to Work for their teams, customers, and community to “get more people on bike every day.”

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth store visits of each location in their district at least once a month, ensuring top-notch hospitality and upholding Trek’s standards.

  • Train new Store Managers and keep the entire team up to date with the latest in training.

  • Collaborate with Store Managers to create and execute plans for improving store and area performance.

  • Dive into P&L results and trends, devising strategies to maximize sales and boost financial performance.

  • Understand and work to eliminate points of conflict in the service side of the business.

  • Coach Store Managers in handling HR/performance-related issues, ensuring a supportive and motivating work environment.

  • Hold Store Manager’s accountable to controlling labor hours, recruiting, store budget, and inventory.

  • Develop a bench of high-performing leaders for succession planning and the exciting openings of new stores.

Position Requirements:

  • 3+ years of multi-unit retail experience, coupled with an unbridled passion for changing the world through bikes.

  • Located in or willing to relocate to the assigned district, ready to visit each store at least once a month.

  • Prepared for travel to Trek HQ in Waterloo, Wisconsin 1-2 times per year.

  • Must be available for overnight travel.

  • Stellar relationship building skills to foster strong connections with store teams and the community.

  • Exceptional organization, time management, and follow-up skills to keep everything running like a well oiled bike chain.

  • Familiarity and knowledge of the area of the district is preferred, turning you into a local celebrity.
