Battelle Energy Alliance dba Idaho National Laboratory Data Architect Team Lead in United States

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Data Architect Team Lead to work in our Information Technology department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls, Idaho facility with every other Friday off. Remote or Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Data and Analytics. You will architect and design the laboratory data management framework, work with business leaders and teams to collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutions that are accessible, useful, and secure.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Define the enterprise data architecture framework, standards and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, and reference data.

  • Translate business and technical requirements into conceptual designs and specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.

  • Refine data processes; improve consistency, quality, accessibility, and security.

  • Collaborate with IT leadership, laboratory departments, partners, external vendors and laboratories. Create/coordinate networks and working groups to address specific goals.

  • Team Lead responsibilities include: performance reviews, time billing; assist department manager in hiring, and assigning staff; work with managers in discussion of telework arrangement requests; work on Promotion & OOC merit discussions along with department manager; may act for department manager when absent; assign physical resources; have discussions with manager regarding staff; accept incoming work and changes to work scope; mentor junior personnel.

*Minimum Requirements: *

  • Bachelor's degree and 9 years experience in Management or Information Technology; or a Master's degree and 6 years experience or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Experience with SSIS or other data integration tools, SSAS, ERWIN or other data modeling tools, Visual Studio, Oracle and Cloud data environments.

  • Expertise in MSSQL databases, security and tuning.

  • Expertise in data normalization and star schemas.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

*Job Information: *

  • The pay range for this position is $109,260 - $223,908 At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

  • You are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
