job purpose : Continuous Improvement leader at Coopersville manufacturing facility. Leads the implementation of a continuous-improvement program; set routines, improves policies, procedures, and processes, lead change management, and advises and assists personnel. Facilitates CI process and training to include Five S and Visual Management, Eight Wastes, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work and other Continuous Improvement activities.

responsibilities:

• Leads implementation of a Continuous-Improvement systems plant-wide.

• Clearly defines program objectives and scope.

• Leads all routines associated with Continuous Improvement, and Fairlife Operational Worksystems

• Ensures accurate monitoring and reporting of plant downtime

• Leads Root Cause Analysis, facilitates problem solving initiatives, coaches and trains on RCA

• Defines initiatives to correct failures and supports the implementation of preventive actions

• Regularly monitors the implementation of solution to achieve objectives and expected benefits.

• Establishes a clear and well-articulated implementation roadmap

• Resolves technical problems: e.g., formulation, equipment, product, interpretation of regulations, resource availability.

• Secures the team’s commitment for proactive change management.

• Evaluates and prioritizes potential improvements based on gains and required effort.

• Establishes criteria for the project’s success and prepares a sound statement of constraints.

• Realistically defines specific project charters, and coaches project leads and teams through key initiatives

• Verifies the sustainability of CI initiatives and the health of management systems

• Secures commitment from managers and mobilizes other involved parties.

• Identifies and utilizes available resources: people, material, finances, etc. to achieve business objectives

• Specifies obstacles and ways to overcome them from the perspective of continuous improvement.

• Provides managers with sound advice and support in developing communication strategies.

• Provides appropriate support to department managers in maintaining implementation of the continuous-improvement initiatives within their respective sectors.

skills/qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in engineering, business, or technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

• 5 - 10 years of proven project management and process improvement skills including;

• Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, certifications a plus

• Experience in process improvement implementation in regulated industry preferred

• Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

• Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills

• Demonstrated ability to create strong working relationships and lead the work of others

• Ability to gather, and analyze data and draw logical conclusions

• Proficient in MS Office products (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Proficient in basic data analysis with PowerBI, Tableau, or equivalent

• Experience training others in the use of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools, and experience with lean approaches to improvement

• Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

working conditions and physical requirements:

• 8-10 hours sitting/standing/walking

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Reaching/bending as needed

• Exposure to hazards is minimal

food safety requirements:

• Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.

• Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.

• Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.

• Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.

• Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.

• Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

• In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
