Job Description:

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a BA/Project Support Intern supporting the Filing Solutions department of the Information Technology division. If you are a multitasker with excellent communication and customer service skills who has an interest in assisting with a variety of business analysis and project tasks to meet the needs of others, then this is the perfect internship for you! This opportunity is based in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a remote position. Candidates must live within 100 miles of the KC office and attend team and company meetings as scheduled by the manager.

Responsibilities I nclude:

  • Performs general business analysis and project support for the Filing Solutions department.

  • Completes assigned business analysis tasks including gathering/documenting requirements, creating diagrams and process flows, and verifying requirements with stakeholders.

  • Provides administrative support including completion of budget-related tasks and scheduling and facilitating meetings and conference calls.

  • Assists in planning and executing team events, including reserving conference rooms and performing room setup/cleanup.

  • Helps post materials to SharePoint and project-related websites.

  • Creates memos, correspondence, reports, graphs, spreadsheets, and other documents using various tools and technology.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to learn and apply business analysis techniques. 

  • Aptitude for technical and creative thinking and problem solving. 

  • Ability to learn various diagramming and modeling techniques and software. 

  • Effective collaborationwith others. 

  • Strongwritten and proofreading skills.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented to produce high-quality, accurate work.

  • Effectively builds and maintains professional, courteous, and effective relationships with all team members.

Requirements:

  • Current student, recent graduate, or one to two years of related experience.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Able to work approximately20 - 25 hours per week; additional hours may be worked if desired. Core business hours are Monday - Friday,10am -3pm.

  • This internship is expected to last between 9 -12 months or 975 hours and will continue through the academic semester.

Compensation : $16.00 per hour
