Associate Test Engineer

Job Description

Test development engineers are critical to Renesas' power management products. They interface directly with the design team to define unique and novel test modes for our current and future generation products. Test engineers also play a critical role in working with the applications team to shape the final device datasheet through characterization and DFT activities. As a test engineer, you are involved with the entire NPI (new production introduction) process that starts from feasibility, DFT, test H/W design, device bring up, ATE characterization, all the way to offshore production test program release. It is test engineer’s job to ensure that each device shipped meets Renesas’s high-quality standards. At the same time, a test engineer also works constantly to identify areas to maximize efficiency, test yield, and minimize test cost.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop ATE test solutions (hardware and software) for new power management IC products including buck-boost battery chargers, multi-cell balancing/protection circuits, and core regulator controller ICs.

  • Full ownership of ATE test solution from planning stage to production.

  • Generate test plans and identify requirements to execute on deliverables.

  • Develop multi-site wafer sort and package test solutions for new products. Responsible for hardware and software design and development.

  • Develop ATE tests for characterization and validation of new products.

  • Ability to interface with design, applications, and product engineering to debug new products and characterize the performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

  • PCB schematic capture.

  • Programming experience (C++ preferred).

  • Analog/mixed signal IC test development/debug.

  • Experience or relevant course work in switching power supply function/design.

  • Understanding of statistical analysis methodologies (GRR, temperature characterization) and tools (JMP preferred).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiar with Teradyne and Advantest ATE systems.

  • Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer engineering.

  • Experience in ATE characterization and test time reduction.
