Job Summary

The Alumni Engagement Coor dinator works under general supervision and will coordinate efforts to establish and cultivate life-long relationships with Texas A&M University-Kingsville students and connect them to alumni through engagement, programming, and outreach. The Coordinator supports the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, and its Board of Trustees. Position reports to the Direc tor of Career Engagement & Corporate Relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategically identify and build relationships with alumni through direct contact methods and through technology to scale outreach.

  • Enhance College and Departmental collaborations related to broadening alumni engagement and mentoring program support .

  • Oversee mentoring program communications, outreach, inquiries through best practice approaches. Collaborate with existing mentoring efforts on-campus to provide a full suite of mentoring program support and tracking.

  • Support events to include the signature alumni/Foundation events , donor events, ring ceremonies, career events, staff meetings, and athletics support programs such as tailgates.    

  • Track and update information in alumni database to capture updated contact information and notes on campus community supporters.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience – Two years of related experience.

    Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Verbal and written communication skills.

    Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

    Preferred Requirements

    Education – Bachelor’s degree.

    Experience – More than two years in alumni relations with direct experience working with alumni constituency.

    Knowledge of – Effective time management and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while adhering to timelines, action plans, and paying attention to detail and customer experiences. Customer relationship management experience, website content management systems, and volunteer platforms .

    Ability to – Demonstrate a connection or familiarity with Texas A&M University-Kingsville . Ability to be self-motivated, work both independently and cooperatively with others. Interpersonal and communication skills. Represent the university and work in a team environment with a mix of students, alumni, colleagues, and volunteers.

    Supervision of Others

    This position generally does not supervise employees , but could support student employees and interns.

Other Requirements

Required to work evenings and/or weekends, as necessary.
