Technical Group Leader (Flight Simulator)

In this role, the Technical Group Leader will be responsible for leading the maintenance team responsible for the training equipment. You will monitor simulator discrepancies and ensure necessary resources are available to correct the discrepancies. This is a key leadership role within our training centre.

Are you ready to:

  • Monitor Training Restrictions on the simulators and ensure necessary resources are available to correct the discrepancies.

  • Monitor calls and ensure the problems are resolved in a courteous and timely manner.

  • Identify and track reoccurring and potential system problems and confer with technical experts and colleagues to formulate working plans to alleviate problems.

  • Conduct periodic system spot checks to ensure quality maintenance, preventive maintenance (PM), and housekeeping are being performed.

  • Monitor Maintenance Management System (MMS) and ensure all ops calls and work orders are updated prior to the end of shift.

  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing sufficient staff to achieve accountabilities and deliver professional service packages.

  • Plan and coordinate daily activities and work assignments along with future projects to minimize customer impact situations.

  • Coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance

  • Provide staff guidance and leadership to ensure that equipment remains at peak performance.

  • Identify and track recurring and potential system problems and confer with technical experts and colleagues to formulate plans to solve problems.

  • Recommend and develop new procedures for testing, maintenance, and repair.

  • Liaise with co-workers to share new ideas and lessons learned.

  • Liase with external contractors and request quotation for jobs to be carried out.

    Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Technical Degree or similar with an Electrical Engineering focus

  • Ideally has knowledge of CAE simulation technology and 5-10 years hands on experience

  • Flexible with their time, at times needing to be on stand by for extra hours particularly for any AOG situations

  • Friendly and customer focused

  • Ability to work and converse efficiently across all levels

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Good problem solving and team working skills.

  • Proven ability to handle difficult situations.

  • Excellent communication skills, with another language being an added bonus
